The estimating department you do not have to build
Urban Estimation exists because good estimators are scarce, expensive to keep busy year-round, and impossible to scale on two weeks notice. We solve all three.
Why we exist
Most contractors lose work for one of two reasons: they cannot bid enough jobs, or the bids they send carry numbers they do not fully trust. Both problems trace back to estimating capacity.
Hiring solves it slowly and expensively. A good estimator costs six figures, takes months to find, and sits underutilized between bid seasons. Urban Estimation was built as the alternative: a dedicated remote estimating team that scales with your bid calendar and charges by the project.
Since then we have prepared 3,260+ bids for general contractors, subcontractors, and civil contractors across the United States, and the contractors we work with win at rates above 30%.
Our mission
Give every contractor access to estimating quality that used to require a full in-house preconstruction department, at a price that makes bidding more work an easy decision.

Who does the work
Your projects are not passed around a pool. You get a named team, and that team keeps your conventions, templates, and pricing history.
Senior estimators
Career estimators who have priced US commercial, residential, and civil work for years, not generalists reassigned to takeoffs.
Trade specialists
Concrete, framing, finishes, sitework: complex trade packages are estimated by people who know how that trade builds.
Independent QA review
Every estimate is checked by a second estimator before delivery. Quantities, units, pricing logic, and document completeness.
Bid-day support
Addenda updates, last-minute alternates, and scope questions answered while your bid window is still open.
What working with us feels like
Your conventions, not ours
Waste factors, labor structures, exclusion wording, supplier formats: we estimate the way your company builds and buys.
Deadlines are commitments
A turnaround date is agreed before work starts and kept. If a document gap threatens the date, you hear about it the same day we find it.
Everything is auditable
Native PlanSwift files, marked-up plans, documented assumptions. You should never have to take a number on faith, including ours.
Put us on your next bid
The first project is the audition. Send plans and judge the work itself.
